Akureyri International Airport, located in North Iceland, is the gateway to the Arctic North. The airport is open all year round and has daily flights to and from Reykjavik.
Akureyri also has scheduled flights to Grímsey, an island located on the arctic circle in the north, as well as to two towns in the east: Thorshofn and Vopnafjordur.
There are also weekly flights to Greenland from Akureyri. Both Akureyri Airport and Egilsstadir Airport offer good service and are especially well equipped for good winter service.
