Icelandair scheduled flights to Höfn launched
Icelandair has begun scheduled flights between Reykjavík and Höfn in Hornafjörður, with the inaugural flight celebrated at Hornafjörður Airport. Flights will operate five times a week using 37-seat DHC-8-200 aircraft.
Sigrún Jakobsdóttir, Managing Director of Isavia Regional Airports, welcomed Icelandair’s arrival:
“This connection between Höfn in Hornafjörður and Reykjavík is important for the local community as well as the country as a whole. It is a great pleasure to welcome Icelandair to Höfn.”
Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair, added:
“It is very gratifying to add Höfn to our domestic route network.”
The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration signed an agreement with Icelandair last May for the scheduled service between Reykjavík and Hornafjörður. The contract runs until the end of August 2028, with the option of extending it by one year at a time, up to a maximum of two years.
